Your career impacts your health

A few weeks ago I asked each one of you to take a short survey.

Nearly everyone had the same responses and questions! How do I sleep better? Control my sugar cravings? And balance my work-life schedule?

To be honest I wasn’t surprised at the answers. I hear this ALL the time in my line of work, and in this modern day and age these are all pretty common issues that most of us deal with.

Your career impacts your physical health.

Makes sense right? Especially if you have a stressful job and are bombarded with bills every month. Of course it’s going to affect your eating and sleeping habits!

Did you know that all three of those issues stem from the same source?

This is a solar plexus chakra deficiency.

Your solar plexus chakra is located in your gut. Hippocrates once said “All disease begins in the gut”. He was a wise man. Let’s look further into the connection between your career, health and the solar plexus chakra.

Your solar plexus chakra is the energy center that controls your relationship to your own personal power, self esteem, ambition and how you shine your inner light onto the outside world. That’s why your job has such a big influence on your solar plexus chakra. Your profession is where you get to engage with other people on a regular basis and shape the world around you.

Any type of work related stress will have an impact on your health, because when you feel powerless or out of control, that energy causes a chain reaction in your body.

Has your belly ever felt clenched in knots when you are stressed out? Do you have a difficult time sleeping when you’re anxious? Are you a stress eater? Or do you not eat at all when you feel sick from stress?

Each one of us can probably answer yes to any one of these questions.

When our stomach forms knots on a regular basis this will create a pattern of contraction. In other words your body will always be in a flight or fight response which will suppress digestion and over produce cortisol. This leads to weight gain, infections, poor sleep and eating.

The feeling of powerlessness is your solar plexus chakra out of balance. It comes from a place of not realizing your own personal power and of fighting circumstances that may be beyond your control.

So what’s the solution?

I’m creating brand new content that will address these needs and will be debuting my new program this fall!

In the meantime I want to share a helpful tip that works for me.

When you feel yourself getting stressed, upset, anxious or overhwhelmed by anything out of your control stop and pause for a few minutes (try for at least two).

Close your eyes and watch your breath. Put your hands lightly on your belly and feel your breath move in and out of this space. Feel your belly softening with every exhale you take. Listen to the messages this energy center is trying to tell you and then either silently or out loud, speak to this area and say “I hear you, I see you, I’m here for you”.

Try this technique and let me know if you have any questions.

As always, I’m here for you.
